What is a Featured Listing?

When your business is Featured, it appears at the top of search results on PinkBazaar — above thousands of other businesses in your city and category. You also get a premium amber badge on your listing card and profile page, making your business instantly stand out.

The 50 km Priority Zone Important

PinkBazaar is a local business directory. Our goal is to show users businesses that are actually near them. So Featured placement is location-smart — your business gets top priority for users within 50 km of your location. Beyond 50 km, your listing appears in normal distance order.

✅ Inside 50 km — Full Featured Priority

Your business appears at the very top of results — above all non-featured businesses in the area. Users searching nearby will see you first.

❌ Beyond 50 km — Normal Distance Sorting

Your Featured status does not override distance. A user 800 km away will see nearby businesses first, and your listing sorts by distance like any other business. This is intentional — it keeps results relevant for local users.

💡 Why this rule exists

Imagine a user in Mumbai searching for a salon. A featured salon from Kathmandu (1,500 km away) showing at the top would be useless to that user. Featured is designed to boost you locally — where it actually matters for your business.

How Placement Works — 3 Scenarios

The placement depends on whether the user has set their location on PinkBazaar.

Scenario 1 — User has exact location saved

User has clicked "Detect My Location" on PinkBazaar. We know their exact GPS coordinates.

Rule: Featured businesses within 50 km appear first. Beyond 50 km → normal distance order.

Scenario 2 — No exact location, but country detected

User hasn't saved location but we detect their timezone (e.g. Asia/Calcutta = India).

Rule: Featured businesses in the same country appear first. A Pakistan or UAE business will NOT jump above Indian businesses for an Indian user.

User is browsing without any location set.

Rule: Featured businesses appear at the top globally, sorted by newest first. There is no distance filter applied.

Tip for best results: Ask your customers to use the "Detect My Location" feature on PinkBazaar. The more users who save their location, the more your Featured listing will be seen by people near your business.

Frequently Asked Questions

I paid and got Featured — why am I not seeing my business at the top?

A few possible reasons: (1) You may be browsing from a different city or country than your business location. Open PinkBazaar from the same city and set your location. (2) Your location hasn't been saved — click "Detect My Location" in the navbar. (3) There may be other Featured businesses also within 50 km of you — they all appear at the top together.

What if there are multiple Featured businesses in my city?

All Featured businesses within 50 km of the user appear at the top, sorted by distance (nearest Featured business first). So the closest Featured business to the user shows first among featured ones.

My business is in a small town — will Featured still work?

Yes. The 50 km radius covers most surrounding towns and villages. Users in your district and nearby areas will see your business at the top when they browse PinkBazaar.

Can I Feature both my store and my service listing?

Yes, each listing is separate. If you have both a store and a service profile on PinkBazaar, you can Feature each one individually for $7 USD/year each.

What is the difference between Featured and Verified?

Featured (⭐) is about placement — you appear at the top of results. It is a paid, annual subscription. Verified (✔) is about trust — it signals that PinkBazaar has confirmed your business is real and legitimate. Verified is not a paid perk: any listing (free or paid) can receive it after review, and it is lifetime — it never expires.

Does Featured work on the PinkBazaar homepage too?

Yes. The "Local Stores" and "Local Services" sliders on the homepage also apply the same 50 km Featured priority rule. Users near your business will see you at the top of the homepage sliders as well.

What happens to my listing after the plan expires?

Your listing remains on PinkBazaar on the free tier — it won't be removed. The ⭐ Featured badge and top placement are removed. You also lose access to Page Updates, Products Showcase, and extended analytics. Your activity dashboard stays accessible via your PIN, and your approved photos remain visible up to the free limit of 2. The ✔ Verified badge stays permanently. Contact us to renew for $7 USD/year to restore all paid features.
